What is the difference between the free Lifeline plans?
The plans are based on state availability and eligibility. Depending on your location, your plan benefits may vary.
- All states' (excluding CA, NE, UT, WI, TX) Lifeline plans include unlimited text, 3,000 minutes and 4.5GB of data.
- California LifeLine plan includes unlimited text, unlimited minutes and 6GB of data.
- Nebraska Lifeline plan includes unlimited text, 3,400 minutes and 4.5GB of data.
- Utah Lifeline plan includes unlimited text, 3,400 minutes and 4.5GB of data.
- Wisconsin Lifeline plan includes unlimited text, 3,150 minutes and 4.5GB of data.
- Texas Lifeline plan includes unlimited text, unlimited minutes and 4.5GB of data.
I’m a new Assurance Wireless customer. How can I purchase the low-cost Data Peace of Mind plan?
Our low-cost plan is only available to new customers through our street teams and to existing Assurance Wireless customers through Customer Care. We recommend signing up and qualifying for Lifeline first. Once approved, you are able to call Customer Care and purchase the Data Peace of Mind plan.
What is the yearly payment plan?
The yearly payment is a one-time yearly fee ($10/year) and is collected up front.

Help Center FAQsThe Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) is a government program that reduces the customer’s broadband internet access service bill. One discount per eligible household and is non-transferable across households. An eligible household may obtain ACP-supported broadband service from any participating provider of its choosing and may apply ACP benefit to any broadband service offering of the participating provider at the same terms available to households that are not eligible for ACP-supported service. ACP service provider may disconnect the household’s ACP-supported service after 90 consecutive days of non-payment; the household will be subject to the provider’s undiscounted rates and general terms and conditions if the program ends, if the consumer transfers their benefit to another provider but continues to receive service from the current provider, or upon de-enrollment from ACP. A household may file a complaint against its provider via the Commission’s Consumer Complaint Center; visit https://acpbenefit.org for more information on ACP.
Assurance Wireless Lifeline offer is part of the federal Lifeline Assistance program and the California LifeLine program, government assistance programs. Only eligible consumers may enroll in the programs; limit of one federal and one state (as applicable) Lifeline discount per household (landline or wireless); benefit is non-transferable. A household is defined as any individual or group of individuals who live together at the same address & share income & expenses. Consumers who willfully make false statements in order to obtain the benefit can be punished by fine or imprisonment or can be barred from the program. Phone models may vary; shipping charges may apply. Add'l. Services: Voice 10¢/min. or 250 mins. w/ $5 add-on; add’l. data requires add-on purchase. Accessing voicemail draws from plan or add’l. mins.
