What Is the Lifeline Assistance Program?
Created by the federal government in 1985, the Lifeline Assistance program helps qualifying low-income households by providing them with FREE wireless service, all so they can stay connected to what matters most—healthcare, loved ones, government services and more.
Eligibility for Lifeline can be determined by participation in select government assistance programs such as Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income, SNAP and more.
Based on your state guidelines, if your household has an income at or below 135%-150% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, you may be eligible for Lifeline service.

Phone Information and Return Policy: Assurance Wireless phones are provided free of charge to eligible customers by our phone vendors, American Network Solutions or Enidus USA, or can be purchased at a low cost. Phone models are either new or refurbished based on availability or available rate plans. Devices may vary depending on inventory. For more information on devices, warranties, and vendor policies, such as device return policies, please contact us and we will connect you with the provider of your device. Local phone numbers may not be available in certain markets. You can request to change your mobile phone number up to three times each year.
Assurance Wireless Lifeline offer is available to eligible customers, residing in selected areas, who are approved for Lifeline service, a government assistance program. One Lifeline discounted service (landline or wireless) available per household & is non-transferable. A household is defined as any individual or group of individuals who live together at the same address & share income & expenses. Consumers who willfully make false statements in order to obtain the benefit can be punished by fine or imprisonment or can be barred from the program. General terms: Customers can use Assurance Wireless service on pay-as-you-go plan after termination of Lifeline service. When account is switched to pay-as-you-go plan & inactive for 60 days, on day 61, account will be closed & any unused service balance & telephone number will be lost. Add'l. Services: Voice 10¢/min. or 250 mins. w/ $5 add-on; add'l. data requires add-on purchase. Accessing voicemail draws from plan or add'l. mins. Int'l. plans require add-on purchase.
